Eligible Projects

To see the kind of projects we will fund, please go to What We Fund. Grantees must reach out to Climate Impact ahead of submitting an application for funding to verify the project’s eligibility and our interest. Preference is generally given to projects in the GTHA.

Eligible Organizations

You must be a CRA- qualified donee, which includes:

  • Registered Canadian charities

  • Municipalities

  • Ontario universities and colleges

Application Form

An application form can be downloaded here. You will be asked to quantify the expected impact of your project (number of people reached, amount of GHG emissions reduced). It is mandatory to reach out to Climate Impact at climateimpactfund@gmail.com ahead of your application to be sure your proposed project fits with our mission and interests.

Application Dates

In 2024, applications will be accepted on the following dates:

  • July 31 (one grant available for a climate literacy project in the GTHA, up to $15,000)- awarded to Project Neutral

  • August 31 (one grant for a climate mitigation project (i.e., a project that can demonstrate ghg emission reductions)- postponed until 2025

AWARDS

Grantees will be notified 4-6 weeks following application closing dates.

For all projects provided with a Climate Impact grant, Climate Impact would like to be publicly recognized by including the Climate Impact logo on all social media, publications, presentations, and websites related to the project.

Climate Impact Fund acknowledges that the land on which we operate is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land, and continue to do so today.

We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to its first inhabitants.
